Frequently Asked Questions
At the U.S. Women's Health Alliance, we believe the best way to understand the value of membership is to hear directly from those who live it every day. That's why we've asked some of our Members to answer the most common questions we receive from prospective practices. Their voices reflect the real experiences, benefits, and insights that come from being part of our national organization, and why they've chosen not just to join, but to stay.
We joined USWHA because we wanted to be part of something bigger than our own practice. The collaboration with like-minded, independent women's healthcare practices has been invaluable. We’ve gained strategic insight, shared best practices, enjoyed cost-savings and strengthened our voice in national advocacy efforts.
USWHA isn’t an MSO or a GPO. It’s an alliance of independent practices working together to improve women’s healthcare. While we do benefit from shared resources and collective strength, there’s no ownership or operational control over your practice. USWHA is just a strong network to support it.
Dues are based on the size of your practice, and the return on investment is clear. From national advocacy to access to trusted partners and practice growth strategies, it’s one of the most valuable memberships we’ve had.
The biggest benefits? Collaboration, access to peer leaders, and the credibility that comes with being part of a respected national organization. We’ve improved operational efficiencies, built stronger teams, and had a seat at the table in national policy discussions.
Not at all. USWHA enhances your independence, and it doesn’t take it away. You maintain full control of your practice. We joined to stay private and physician-led, not to give it up. What we’ve found is support that makes our independence stronger.
Yes, the USWHA Leadership Team would be happy to make introductions so you can hear firsthand. Before we joined, we had conversations with other Members that helped us understand how the U.S. Women’s Health Alliance aligned with our values. Now we’re paying that forward.
Not at all. Some of us are midsize or smaller groups and even solo physician practices. That diversity is part of what makes USWHA strong. No matter your size, your voice matters here, and you’ll be heard.
As involved as you want to be. Some Members lead working committees, some focus on regional collaboration, and most participate in conferences, networking and discount programs. There are plenty of ways to engage, and we believe it’s worth it.
You’ll be welcomed immediately. The USWHA team connects you with fellow Members, provides onboarding resources, and includes you in Member-wide initiatives. It truly feels like joining a family of leaders.
We recognize that practice models are evolving, and as the landscape of healthcare continues to shift, so too does our approach.
The USWHA Executive Committee regularly reviews membership criteria to ensure they remain inclusive and relevant while remaining aligned with the mission of supporting sustainable, patient-centered private practice.
